Adie Dick and Angela Koltz were recognized at the 2025 WHPA Fall Convention in Neenah, WI on November 8th.

Youth Award Recipient Adie Dick with her family

Adie Dick was recognized with the WHPA Youth Award. Beginning at age 7, Adie experienced WHPA at one of its most outwardly facing events – the Wisconsin State Fair – without previous experience in the industry.  Her education in beekeeping started on the honey side and was very product focused. For many years, she helped to staff the WHPA state fair booth, picking up shifts when regular volunteers were delayed or missed a shift.  Her dedication and love for serving the beekeeping industry were infectious for those who worked with her.

After several years of promoting honey at the State Fair, Adie has begun working in beehives, learning about how honeybees operate in an actual hive (not just the observation hive).  She also has a keen interest in honey and the different recipes that are enhanced by its flavor along with beeswax.  She’s helped beekeepers make candles and beeswax sculptures and has learned more each year about the different facets of the beekeeping industry. Congratulations Adie!

Service Award Recipient Angela Koltz

In appreciation for her dedicated service to the WHPA, Angela Koltz received the Service Award on Nov. 8, 2025. Koltz, a past WI Honey Queen and American Honey Princess serves on the WI Honey Queen Committee mentoring the next generation of honey and beekeeping ambassadors, and donates her skills in design to the state and national honey queen programs.  Balancing a full-time marketing career and her family, she donated countless hours to helping WHPA rebrand in 2024 and 2025. Koltz stepped up in a moment of need for the organization, showing her continued support and dedication to the beekeeping industry.
